Well, not ME exactly, but we will be making some sandwiches for the homeless this Friday. Please bring two packs of meat because we were a bit short last time. If you're not sure how much two packs of meat is, just bring more than what you think you need to bring! We always run short, so let's bring more this time--the more the merrier!!! :)
So let's put to practice what Pastor Steve from Summer Camp said...let's reach out and do something for those in need!!! See ya'll there at 7:30pm on Friday!

Friars and Nuns
Ok ok, so it's been a while since we've blogged, but it's been kind of hectic.
Do you ever get those days where you just want to sit and do nothing....I mean absolutely do nothing. Well, I keep on having those days. Maybe it's because of the lack of sleep. This is why you guys should sleep while you are young. Especially some of you guys out there that don't sleep until 3:00am!! CRAZY!! I'm not going to name any names though (cough cough....). I can't stress the importance of sleep while you guys are in school. It really helps you think. SERIOUSLY!!
So this Friday (hehe...today) is Friars and Nuns. It starts at 7:30 at the church. So bring your friends and the girls are going to do their thang...and boys will do their manly boys stuff....hahaha.
I don't know how many of you guys read this, but this blog was supposed to be a discussion board as well. You guys can comment questions and stuff like that, and we would try our best to answer them.
David asked me a good question the other day. He asked where you would draw the line if you were a police officer and a christian. He gave an example of if the police caught someone speeding, do they still give them the ticket? or do they forgive them and let them go??
Well, in the Bible, it specifically instructs us to submit to higher authorities because they have been created by God, so in other words, the police are there to keep the peace, so you still have to obey all the rules.
Let's take a look at Romans 13
Romans 13
Submission to the Authorities
1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. 7Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Does everyone understand??
So basically.....listen to the police! :)
Does anyone else have any questions??? C'mon....we're ready for them.
"Did you know that there's a song called Tell the World??" -> hahahaha....it still makes me crack up....sorry!!
You GUYS ROCK!
See you tonight at 7:30pm

Don't be Stinkston!!!
Did you know that when I was in Junior High, one of the nicknames the girls had for me was "Stinkston!?!?" I won't tell you why, but I'll leave it to your imaginations!! :P
what does this have to do with YAC? Well, let me just tell you that if you don't want to be nicknammed "Stinkston," you better bring a change of clothes and deodorant this Friday!! :)
Meet at church @ 6pm or @ Bishop Kidd @ 7pm. Don't forget your runners, your loonies and of course your friends...if you have any! :)
See ya'll there! Have a super rest of the week everyone!

Lead me on and I will RUN after You...
Does anyone know which song the words from the title are from? :P
Man, wasn't it a great weekend? It was awesome having YAC twice in one week wasn't it? I can really tell that many of you are super hungry for God to fill you up through the worship times we have together. I sense such excitement in a lot of you and it really is encouraging to see! Don't stop with what you got though, keep getting MORE excited for God. Be MORE hungry for God. He can satisfy us in such an amazing way.....if you feel like God's filled you up, He can still fill you some more until His love is overflowing out of your heart. Wouldn't you like to experience that? Wouldn't it be amazing? I pray that God would lead us all on with His love so that we would chase after Him like nothing else matters!
That's it for now folks...see ya'll on Friday at 10am for Good Friday Service! :)

WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?!
Hey gang,
How you all doing? I hope you're having a great week! I got this devotion from ZJam but I wanted to share this bad boy with ya as well!!!
“And when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.” Acts 11:26 (NIV)
You shouldn’t have to tell anybody you’re a Christian. Others should be able to tell through your actions, through how you live your day-to-day life. The disciples were called Christians, because they lived like Christ and it was noticeable. The world looked at them and saw Christ. They didn’t have to tell anybody. Could the same be said of you? Do people who see you on a regular basis know you’re a Christian? Do your actions reflect those of Jesus? They will know us by our sacrificial love. Loving each other, as Jesus loves us, is the root command.
“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” Ephesians 4:22-24 (NIV). Now keep yourself (stand firm) in the love of God, and then, love each other. You are a Christian, you are a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, you are a partaker of this heavenly calling…
Okay, does anyone else struggle with this? I know it can be hard to be a Christian in our schools and to our family and friends who don't know God but how is the world going to see what a difference having Jesus in our lives makes if they can't even see it in our own lives? If the world is going to see Jesus, we definitely have to live the life He's called us to live. I believe the most visible way of doing this is through love. Why not forgive those who hurt us instantly? Why not be a friend to those who aren't loveable? Anyone have any stories they want to share about success and/or failures in trying to show that they are Christians to those who don't know Jesus? C'mon, we gotta share our stories and support one another!!
Have a great rest of the week and I'll see you all at Soul Recharging at 7:30pm this Friday! PAYCE!!!

How's your Heart Doing?
Hey guys and gals! How's it going? I hope you're all have a great week! Below is a Devotion that was mailed to me today and I thought I'd post it for you all to read! Let me know what you think!
Kingston
“I said to the LORD, "You are my Master! All the good things I have are from you.” Psalm 16.2 (NLT).
That verse totally expresses the feeling inside my heart right now! I know life is not always easy, but recently God has been working on my heart and I can confidently declare, “LORD, You are my Master! All the good things I have are from you.”
Our heart’s condition is very important. Proverbs 4.23 (NLT) says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do.” The heart is important to God because that’s where our emotions and feelings lie. When Jesus comes into our life, He transforms our heart. He takes all the bad things out and puts in His love, joy and peace instead. He takes out the bitterness, hate, grudges, negativity, and all those bad things. Some issues take longer than others to be changed, but when God works in your heart good things are happening! He changes the way we look at things in life. When we get our inside world (our heart/mind) put right, it’s easier to see God in the outside world.
Since I’ve said to Jesus, “You are my Master!” I’ve received only good things from Him. Moreover, all the good things I’ve ever received have come from Him. Everyday He gives me new gifts. Even when problems come my way, I can stand still and praise Him, because I know He will turn them into positives (see Romans 8.28). Ask Jesus to be your Master today and receive all the good stuff He has for you!

Common Question # 1
Hey gang!
At http://www.christianitytoday.com/teens/ the site has a lot of teens who write in and ask a lot of questions about certain things about their faith and becuase it's Valentines Day in a week or so, I thought I'd post one of the common questions that surrounds dating. The answer was written by some people with some good credibility and I agree with everything said.....if you have any questions, feel free to check out this site to see if the answers to your burning questions are posted!!!
Is It OK to Date a Non-Christian?
Question: I have always told myself I would never date a non-Christian, but lately I've been wondering if it's all right. There's a guy at school who is a wonderful person and honestly one of the sweetest guys I've ever met. He has high standards like I do, and accepts what I believe, but I don't think he's a Christian. Still, I can't help but like him—he's such a great person! I've been praying about this a lot and have asked Christian friends for advice, but I'm still not sure what's right. The Bible says we aren't to be yoked to unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14), which I've been taught is a reason not to marry a non-Christian. But the Bible isn't very clear about dating. These feelings just won't go away, and I don't know what to do.
Answer: My advice is, stay where you are. You feel uncomfortable now, but not nearly as uncomfortable as you would if you fell in love with someone who didn't share your beliefs. Then you'd feel like you were being pulled in two directions—one part pulled toward God, another part pulled toward a person you didn't think you could live without.
You're right that the Bible isn't clear on dating non-Christians. Besides, "dating" means different things to different people in different situations. Sometimes there's no emotion involved—it's just a friendly way to go to a dance or to a movie. However, I think most people will admit that in the back of their minds, they think about the possibility of getting romantically involved with the people they date.
That's why it's simpler and much less heartbreaking to avoid dating people who aren't Christians. It's so easy to fall in love, even when you aren't intending to! Once you're seriously involved, it's terribly painful and confusing to both parties for the Christian to make a choice between God and this powerful feeling of love. I'd advise you to stick to dating those who share your beliefs.
That certainly doesn't mean you can't befriend this wonderful guy! In fact, I hope you invite him to go to church or youth group with you. Talk to him about your faith. Ask him if he's interested in learning about Jesus. You could help this great guy become a follower of Jesus.
And there you have it folks! Hope that gives you a clear picture about the dangers of dating non-Christians! Any Comments? Questions? Have a great week!

How well do you know your BIBLE?
Hey Guys!!
What's up??
I've got this problem and I need your help. What verses in the Bible would you guys use??
Here's what someone said to me:
"Excuse me, but will I go to heaven?? I mean I'm a good person. I help people whenever I can, and whenever Christmas and Easter come around I always go help out at the mustard seed serving the homeless. I've never smoked or done drugs, and I absolutely hate swearing; it's a filthy language. I come from a good home, and I have a great relationship with my parents. I believe there is a heaven and a hell, and there is definitely something out there, but I don't know what it is. Will I go to heaven?"
Well....what do you guys think?? What verses in the Bible would you guys use to back up your thoughts?

You CAN Go...if you REALLY Want to.....
Hey Gang,
This Friday (tommorrow), is Soul Food...bring your bibles! :)
I received a very moving devotion on Tuesday and I forwarded it to many of you. If you didn't read it, here's a portion of it below. If you have read it, read it again because it's deeply moving! It talks about the power of friendship and is part one from a series called "Cultivating Christian Friendships." Wouldn't it be amazing if you could find or even BE the loyal friend who wants to rescue his dying commrade described below?!? Read on......
One could not but be moved by the story of the soldier who asked his officer if he
might go out into the "No Man's Land" between the trenches in World War I to bring in one of his comrades who lay grievously wounded. "You can go," said the officer, "but it's not worth it. Your friend is probably killed, and you will throw your own life away." But the man went. Somehow he managed to get to his friend, hoist him onto his shoulder, and bring him back to the trenches. The two of them tumbled in together and lay in the trench bottom. The officer looked very tenderly on the would-be rescuer, and then he said, "I told you it wouldn't be worth it. Your friend is dead and you are mortally wounded." "It was worth it, though, sir," he said. "How do you mean, 'worth it'? I tell you your friend is dead." "Yes, sir," the boy answered, "but it was worth it, because when I got to him he was still alive, and he said to me, 'Jim, I knew you'd come.'"
You comments on this story?! We'd love to hear them! :)

Worship the WHAT?!?
Hey Guys and Gals,
I just thought I would say "Hi" and challenge you guys...hahahha.
What does it mean to be "souled out"?
This past Sunday really reminded me of a Bible story that is one of my favorites. It's of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Why don't you guys read it for yourself.
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=34&chapter=3&version=31
To me, this is just one way of being souled out.
There are three things that are important in this story:
1. They were firm in their beliefs. Not to bring them glory, but to give God glory.
2. They were protected by God and nothing hurt them.
3. Because of what happened, God's power was shown, the King became a believer, and the three men, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, were blessed.
Imagine actually being in that time seeing the three of them standing there.
What would you guys do in that situation?
It's so tough to decide because your life is on the line. I know I would have a difficult time deciding. If you guys read verses 16-18, you see that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego didn't really care for their lives, they just wanted to show that their God is the one true God. That's amazing and it definitely takes a lot of guts.
Think about this...what are the daily decisions you guys have to make to be souled out? It definitely isn't a life or death situation like the story in Daniel, but we make decisions about our faith everyday. Think about that.
Anybody have anything else to add?? Or any comments or questions??
Luke 9:23-26 (New International Version)
Later y'all. Have an awesome week!
Remember that this Friday is "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" so bring your brain and lets see how smart you guys really are.....hahahahaha....GAME ON!
Bring your friends too. It Starts at 7:30pm at church.

23Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself
and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24For whoever wants to save his life
will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. 25What good is it
for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self? 26If
anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

Souled Out!!!!!
So what do you guys think of the new YAC Theme? Cool? Okay? Are still confused as to what the theme is all about?!
I think it's pretty amazing.....God has really placed a vision in my heart--as well as Leo's and Sarah's hearts--for you all and we are EXCITED to see this plan unfold!!!
Just a verse for you guys and gals:
2 Chr 16:9
For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
(NIV)
In this new year, may you find that you are drawn closer to Him....As you face the struggles, the joy, and the pain, may you find that each event makes you more and more committed to Him!
Have a super week!
